10/7 - 10/16
I began this report with "1/29 - 2/2 The project is finally under way." Seems like more than nine months have passed! We have the C/O and there remains only punch work. This is the final ‘Developer Article' for Coeur de Terre. - The project is finally finished!
There are a few items left - nine lengths of the cable
{read more}railing on the right side had to be reordered (the lengths were too short), two of the three shower heads on the second floor are not to my liking so I am redoing those, the bunk room beds are waiting for the mattresses to construct the frames, and some miscellaneous painting and drywall touch-up is still pending. We are at the ‘substantial completion' point and the house is habitable.
The first scheduled owners will be arriving on the 18th. There are photos of the furnishings at http://www.vipfripp.com/photo-gallery/catid,8/ (the photo gallery, under furnishings). If you desire further details on any of the furnishings or views that do not appear, please call or e-mail and I will provide them.
Tomorrow I will e-mail (with regular mail copies) an outline of the anticipated closing timeline and method as well as where and when to send the balance of your contract balance.
Thank you all for the opportunity you have given me to design and build this house - this dream. Without qualification Coeur de Terre has been the most exciting and gratifying project in my thirty-year construction career.
