The house is being called the ‘Steel House' by passers-by and the inspectors. The look is changing now that the framers are placing walls and the second floor system. We lost a day to rain ... Thursday afternoon and Friday Morning were very windy and rainy. We will try to make up the time on Saturday.
The front porch decking is in and the front stair framing is
done - all things you cannot see from the camera. We also constructed all of the glass block frames for installation in the new walls. The block is on site as well.
Prior to beginning we moved 14 large and medium sized palms out of the construction area and into final landscaping placements. It looks like four of the trees we transplanted are not adapting well. I was told to expect to lose 50% by the end of the year. We are diligent with watering and the weather has been cool so I have high hopes for the rest.
Next week I hope to have the roof system on and felted - another ambitious weekly goal!
