Tenth Week of Construction

4/2 - 4/6

Electrical rough-in continued this week. HVAC finally got started on Thursday. Doors in back were set and we are ready for the framing and strapping inspection, scheduled for Monday. We must pass this inspection prior to wrapping the with Tyvek house wrap and felt on the roof ... the inspector checks the nailing on the plywood and the proper hurricane straps and tie-downs strap installation. After this we can begin exterior trim and siding, roofing, and continue with the rough-ins.

This is the first Saturday we have not been able to get some work done on the house ... Fripp Island does not allow work on holiday weekends. The cold weather would have made it difficult in any event. Forty degrees on the beach feel much colder that the mercury implies.

Construction schedules never seem to go in the negative direction. We will continue to try to make up time but we are looking at mid July for a completion date at this point in the schedule if all goes well.
