The Water Festival is upon us in Beaufort as we are pressing towards the finish-out.
The white oak flooring is being installed on the first floor and the finishers are sanding and sealing flooring on the second floor balcony. Some tile setters have been placing Travertine Marble in the second floor shower walls while others are setting the shower pans on the first floor
.
Painters are completing the final coats on the exterior. I met with an artist who I may contract to paint a mural on the curved foyer wall (facing Tarpon Boulevard) and saw preliminary drafts of her design. It should be a stunning addition to the interior if at all affordable.
Light fixtures are arriving in dribs and drabs. Once the floor has two coats of sealer the painters can prime the interior. Everything is moving along. We are still shooting for C/O in the first week in August but there are no guarantees at this point. The job is progressing very well - a comparable house just up the road started a good month prior to us and is not yet drywalled - small consolation for the summer schedules just missed but heartening for the work crews.
