3/19 - 3/23 Seemed like a long week. The plumbers started their rough-in. We are using Oceanside Plumbing - they do most of their work on very expensive custom homes on Hilton Head Island, so we feel fortunate to be added to their busy schedule. Owner Doug Pine is a true craftsman and it shows in all of the work that he does. He will be installing a hot water recirculating pump to eliminate
the wait for hot water at all supply points - even the outside shower near the bench on the deck. Palmetto Air - HVAC - made a preliminary site visit to lay-out the ductwork. They will begin on Wednesday. This will be their first job for me. They have great references and have worked with Doug on Hilton Head and Bray's Island. Carl Delaney (CD Electric) also came out to look over the electrical system and will begin rough-in on Tuesday. Carl has done all of my electrical work for as long as I can remember. We will be installing a lighting control system which will give us the flexibility to set lighting scenes and control all the lights from any location. The elevator company also came out to measure the elevator shaft and scheduled installation for the middle of May. Framers set the front columns and are bringing the roof down over the front porch now. Not much going on in the back - where the camera is set up. Window and doors arrived in Charleston and are set to be delivered next week. Should be very hectic - always is during the rough-in stage. The weather has been great - no complaints other than the arrival of the no-see-ums in vast numbers. Whenever the wind stops blowing, everyone starts dancing and the air reeks of skin so soft.
