2/19 - 2/23 Steel and crane arrived on Monday morning at 9. We caused yet another traffic jam as the 18 wheel flat bed trucks with the 30 steel beams was unloaded by the crane onto the first floor. That was done by noon and we began setting columns and beams. Masons were trying to work below the steel which was flying overhead. On Tuesday, the crane worked and steel was flying sans masons
- they decided to give us a day to get finished before returning to complete their work. The steel was set and the crane released at noon Tuesday. The beams and columns were all leveled, plumbed and welded. Masons returned on Wednesday to complete their work, and the block cells were filled on Thursday. In the meantime the framers have assembled the front porch and stair framing. Material was delivered for the second floor framing. I will begin taking stills to post on this site this week as camera 2 is no longer functional. I hope to be enjoying a view of the beach standing on the second floor sun deck by week's end next week.
