Week Sixteen
5/14 - 5/18

The roof is 90% complete, and exterior trim and siding has work is down to hand railing and lattice work. The circular two story foyer walls and rounded second floor balcony and stair are all that lack on the interior framing. The rear sliding door finally arrived and was installed. We are waiting for the last four direct-set window units in the back wall that I added after the other ones were installed (just could not bear to close off the view of the horizon line from the second floor balcony). As soon as the roof is complete and some plumbing punch work is done, we will be calling for the rough-in inspection, then insulating and hanging sheetrock.

Looking at the end of July for completion now. Traffic has eased off somewhat but is still difficult, especially during the usual heavy travel times and whenever the downtown bridge has to open for boat traffic. One opening of the swing bridge typically causes an hour and a half delay. We are all wondering what will happen during Water Festival, when a hundred-thousand people come to visit.
