6/25 - 6/29 The interior trim crew began Monday and hung interior doors. It is nice to see the finishing begin in earnest. They ran door and window trim, crown molding, and base molding. The interior trim should be complete next week. Painters also began on Monday, caulking, sanding and filling on the exterior trim and siding. They primed most everything by Friday and began applying
the trim color. I am changing the wall color to a more grey tone - the original appears a lot more yellow than in the swatch. The trim is an aqua identical to the sky where it meets the water on a clear day at Fripp (the colors come form the Historic Charleston Foundation Lowcountry Collection - Island Colors at Sherwin Williams). It is very close to the rendering on the web site home page and architectural drawings page - but it does stand out. I am getting comments on both ends of the spectrum: some people stop me in the road and comment on how good it looks, while others think it is ‘ugly'. I will try to post some pictures on line. Tile work began on Thursday in all four bathrooms with the setting of wonder board. The last of the exterior trim details are finishing as well: rear side stairs, second floor screening, etc. We had the roofer back to do his final punch work on Friday. There were a bunch of happy vacationers on Fripp this week - I saw a conga line weaving down the beach to a Reggae beat Friday afternooon (none of the crew joined in but it was hard to keep the men from gawking). Busy week!
